Hi guys
Another wee update for you. I was out with the Oatridge boys and girls to take some photos of the job they’re doing. It was great to meet up with Maya, a member of the Oatridge team and another photographer that Graham Burns has been helping gain confidence and I’ve been emailing Maya to see how she’s getting along in the BTCV family as she just recently started.
Graham Burns has taken one of my shots to use in the Clan bulliten so check that out when the next issue is out. After hanging out with the Oatridge team I was taking photos in Muiravonside country park with John McFarlane, there was a really enthusiastic family out with us so I have a few snaps of their little girl looking amazed at the butterflies we managed to catch.
Other than that I’ve been IN the newest BTCV publication. Look in the courses section in the back and my ugly mug staring lovingly at a flower is there for all to see! No autographs though, sorry guys!
I am intending to finally get some photos up of our group and the Oatridge boys and girls just so you can see I’m not just lying and sitting in an office 24/7!
I was at the Natural Talent open day at the weekend and boy am I in for a fight to get one of those positions. Natural Talent have room for five apprentices to start learning about a range of taxa. Lichenology, bryophytes, diptera, farmland conservation and… oh no I’ll get shot for forgetting one! I’ll need to edit this later when I remember.
Imagine a room filled with intelligent, dedicated, like minded people and that idea is a daunting one! Now you have to beat them all to that position and prove you’re better than the rest. I’ve been bigging myself up and I’ll give it my best shot so who knows, maybe BTCV won’t quite be rid of me in a little over a month, yes that’s right my time with Project Scotland is coming to an end and I don’t know how much longer I’ll stay on after that’s done.
I’ll leave you on that sad note, I have to get home and try and remember to sort those photos out! But it’s such a nice day….
