We are so happy to have our Inverness Green Gym back up and running again, and have been enjoying visiting some of our favourite locations these last few weeks. The 25th August saw us visit the REAL Project at Inverness High School, where the lovely Morag is always on hand to keep us right, get us organised and spoil us with some freebies at the end of the session (Broad beans this time, yum yum).
As you can see from the photos it is a gardeners haven, and there is always plenty of tasks for our green gym’ers – weeding, planting, compost heap sorting and eating strawberries!
Today we were back out at Merkinch Local Nature Reserve, which is always a lovely spot, and today we had the added bonus of no rain & wind and dolphins in the firth!!
Our task for today was clearing michaelmas daisies from the area and also clearing back the overgrowing vegetation from the path – plenty for our volunteers to get stuck into! The pathway itself is really busy and it’s nice to the area being used by so many people. Hopefully they all take a minute to notice the wildlife that surrounds them 🙂
