The TCV Stirling volunteers stayed at Balallan House today preparing for the delivery of a new shed for the garden for the Butterfly Conservation who we share the building with.
First we had to get rid of the old shed which seemed to be the home of a huge amount of spiders, woodlice, centipedes and most interestingly a Devil’s coach horse beetle which we found in the foundation of the old shed.
The new shed will sit on a new foundation of cement with a wooden frame surround which is pegged in to lend support. Today we built the wooden frame and levelled the floor, then pegged in the frame.
However due to the continual rain all day we were unable to pour the concrete. We had to wait patiently till the Thursday for us to our in the concrete.
