TCV Stirling went out to Muiravonside Country Park again today. It was a beautifully sunny day and we had a productive morning removing the regrowth from the rhododendrons and laurel that were removed during our last visit.
We hand pulled the small plants and used loppers and bow saws to remove the larger regrowth, then piled the vegetation to be burned in the future. It was a wonderful day and we hope to return very soon to continue managing these non-native invasive species in the park.
We saw some nice dogs and the bulbs are starting to come through but the star of the show (besides our wonderful volunteers!) was a buzzard that flew over us as we were leaving, showing it’s wonderful brown and white plumage.
