So this week we were back at Easter Inch Moss in Seafield (West Lothian) continuing our bog restoration work.
This week we moved into compartment 2, removing trees and saplings, again we used the trunks, twigs and branches to dam up water ways that run through the bog, this should help the bog retain water.
This is slow hard work as getting around on the bog (treading over moss and heather) is a challenge in itself.
This is really good and important conservation work, bogs are rich, diverse and unique habitats that are also (sadly) depleting rapidly. Hopefully our work will help preserve one of Scotlands bog habitats and increase the areas biodiversity.
