Calling all beach lovers – Your beach needs you!
The Marine Conservation Society is aiming to make this year’s Great British Beach Clean the biggest ever and they would love to invite you to join in!
Throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK there will be events going on over the weekend of the 18th-21st September and they hope to see you at one of them!
Beachwatch is the Marine Conservation Society’s national beach cleaning and litter surveying programme – helping people all around the UK to care for their coastline with the Great British Beach Clean being the flagship event.
Whether you want to become a Beachwatch Organiser for your local beach or just come along to one of their registered events they can help you make it the most educational and fun day out at the beach in your calendar!
For more information and to sign up please go to www.mcsuk.org/beachwatch
If you are already involved in beach cleans the Marine Conservation Society would love to hear from you and discuss the opportunities for you to fill out one of our litter survey forms during your clean so they can add it to their now 22 year strong database! This has helped bring about changes to tackle litter at its source for example with the 5p carrier bag charge. If you have never done a beach clean before then come along and try it!
