Natural Communities trainee Lorna Oldershaw has been working over the last three months on a great new resource to help Duke of Edinburgh students get involved with Citizen Science.
The project was jointly supported by TCV and BTO, and was funded by Scottish Natural Heritage and the Scottish Ornithologists’ Club.
It contains loads of great ideas for Citizen Science projects, ideas for how it can be integrated into expedition aims, volunteering and skills sections as well as a TCV case study of how Citizen Science has fitted into a past DoE project.
We hope to follow this guide up with further training and support for DoE leaders so if you are interested, please get in touch with Dom Hall on d.hall@tcv.org.uk. Even if you are not involved with DoE, you will still find loads of great ideas so we would advise you all to download this guide for free now! There are also lots of other ideas for you to get involved in Citizen Science on our website.
