The Conservation Volunteers spent a day at Kilmarnock on Wednesday working on a wildlife garden for a primary school. On a previous visit they had dug out an area that is to be used as a bog garden and another that the children will use as an outdoor classroom. It all looked great but we had one problem…what to do with all the left over turf?
One member of our team suggested we make a giant sofa with it…so that is what we did. It only took the volunteers a couple of hours to make what can only be described as a work of art! Once it had been finished we tried it out for ourselves and it was surprisingly comfy.
Considering the hard work that the team put into the project, there’s one thing for sure, these guys are definitely no Couch Potato Volunteers…
