We arrived to red hall expecting to do a days worth of path maintenance. However the material we were originally going to use failed to arrive so we thankfully managaed to suss out new jobs for our volunteers.
Before we got to work however we were given a a tremendous tour of their walled garden from Billy, a chap who works there on a regular basis. We were shown all kinds of different gardens, a Band stand, an impressive section of raised beds ”Wood Henge” and great Metal Sculptures throughout the garden.
Having completed our guided tour we got to work on pulling out masses of Brambles and a few other evasive plants hoping our material would arrive later in the day. sadly it didn’t arrive so we carried on pulling up brambles and Snow Berry. The brambles we gave to the Walled Garden for composting and the Snow Berry we excitingly made a bonfire of.
(Sadly our photo’s failed to upload and will hopefully be up next week.)
