Thursday of last week saw the mid week volunteers out at St. Johns Roman Catholic Primary School to help them develop their gardens.
This first of all involved re-profiling their original pond and ensuring that the liner was well installed. Second on the list was to completely de-weed and get rid of any grass’s coming through on a particular section of the garden, place landscape fabric down and top it all up with gravel. Third was the constructing of a sleeper bench that sat happily on the gravel. To top it all off we planted in a variety of shrubs and plants to pretty the place up.
It was a busy day with loads of work to be getting on with, however the midweek group took it all in their stride and completed it all to a goodly standard of time. As a result we were even asked to come back to do some more work for the Primary School.
