Tiptoe through the…

Spring has sprung and we can finally tiptoe through the tulips in the garden. It has only taken a week for the bulbs to properly spring up and burst into bloom. The garden is a proverbial artist’s palette since the daffodils, crocus, hyacinth and tulips have decided to grace us with their belated presence. Not only that, but the weather was kind to us as well. So kind that we managed to dig over an area to sow another little mini meadow and also got some food growing started. We stuck in our spuds and sowed our sugarsnaps, bunged in our beetroot, lobbed in our leeks and onerously put in some onions.
All we have to do is wait now and hope the pesky pigeons weren’t looking so they can help themselves, as they like to do every year! We had a new volunteer joining us today who had previously visited through his school but has returned to volunteer independently.
So watch this space for what starts to grow over the next few weeks – unless it snows again of course!
