Today we were continuing with the work in the allotment area, helping allotment holder’s safe guard the fruits of their labour by installing a rabbit proof fence.
It was gate hanging and wire stretching for the fence and path building that was on the agenda, and soon everyone was at it.
Having split into teams everyone got stuck into the task at hand. David showed us his fence building skills with fancy corner supports, and the team on the Type 1 made great progress with the path down the centre. Soon it was lunch, so we broke for a munch sitting in the circled area, which made for a great place however the seating wasn’t to steady as John soon found out having had his seat sink into the Type 1.
After lunch we managed to complete bottom fence and most of the top, with the main large gate getting hung and finished also.
Soon it was time to clear-up for the day and not a moment too soon as allotment holders were popping up to work on their plots and water sprinklers were flowing everywhere, But we’ll be back another day!
