Over the past couple of weeks we have unfortuntely been snowed off but yesterday we had our Christmas party. We decided to do a quiz with the prize being a selection box for the winning team.
We also had a load of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy which featured some perfectly cooked pizza (even if I do say so myself) and the day turned out to be a great success. The quiz had a conservation themed picture round in which you had to name what was in the pictures and to Julie’s surprise no-one managed to get full marks, obviously we’ll have to step up the theory side of Green Gym. We also handed out certificates to some of our volunteers who had reached landmarks for their efforts over the years. Jim Lavery and Alan Johnston got their certificates for doing 150 days. Robbie Lee got his 100 day certificate and John Lyle and Rhona Emery got their 50 day certificates.
Unfortunately Jim is a bit camera shy so is not in the presentation photo as I’m sure you can see. Well done to you all and hopefully you will continue to increase on those numbers. I know Robbie is determined to make the 150 mark as he was asking me how long it would take him to reach it. The Quiz went down well (I hope as I wrote and hosted it) with eventual winners Gym’s Team winning by just 2 point’s over the Litter Pickers with the Green Wellies coming a respectable 3rd only a couple of points behind. Today we were supposed to be going to Muirshiel to do some Rhoddy bashing but once again we fell foul of the weather, which is a shame because I know how much we all love going up to Muirshiel.
I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you to all the volunteers for a wonderful year and I hope to see you all again in January
Kerr.
