Its a big night in Leeds! Some of our team are off to the Child Friendly Leeds Awards tonight – to see which organisations in Leeds are being recognised for the wonderful work they do with young people in the city. The ceremony is a great event, all organised by young people, and with more young people from Leeds performing between the award presentations! It should be a fun evening and a chance to find out more about some of the other organisations helping to make a difference in the city.
A few of our Volunteer Officers have contributed to the Child Friendly Leeds Blog over the last few months. Back in November Gemma wrote about her experiences as a volunteer at Skelton Grange and brings back memories of the mayhem of Zombie Week, and Halloween! Louise blogged about the excitement of Mimika Theatre’s week at Skelton Grange, with their performance of Landscapes bringing us all on a journey through deserts, rainforests, the arctic and even the oceans, all within the confines of their wonderful dome shaped tent. Finally, Sam summed up his experiences during his six months volunteering with us just before he took up his new job as a teaching assistant in a Leeds Primary School. So he’s still helping to make Leeds even more Child Friendly!
Good luck to everyone at the Awards tonight – lets hope 2015 is a year of great opportunities for children at Skelton Grange and all over Leeds.
