November 11, 2011 by TCV Blogs Editor

monday started as a new felp trainee didnt know what to expect started off with a real early morning 5 oclock to make my way to stirling BTCV office getting to stirling was relativley easy. as well as finding allan park. well we all met had coffe introduced ourselves and then we all sat down to see what we would be doing over the next 10 weeks. met some forestery commission proffesionals who went on about what they do and what courses we will be going on through them.after that that was pretty much the end of the day we met our mentors then went on our way.

Tuesday. first day as an offical felp trainee up and early and involved getting the train to waverley bridge met up with BTCV Volunteers and felp trainees we were looking forward to the day ahead but were not sure what to expect when the van apeaered to pick us up off we went to callendar woods. when we arrived we had a ritual of BTCV coffee and tea before we start after that i was speaking to other btcv volunteers and staff about there experiences and learned a lot. then for the rest of the day we started opening up accsess for the public and taking overhanging branches down.

Wedensday. we went off to callendar again and for this and thursday we were taking down conifloweres that we were not wanting up and overlapping pathways for public to walk across i spent the majorty of the 2 days doing that and asking the mid week group there thoughts about BTCV and volunteering and seeing where they would like to go in the future. week 1 summary relaxing fun met new people and had a laugh.
