Welcome to Health for Life in the community
Members of the Health for Life team, joined other local groups and community members for the Party on the Green at the Ley Hill Village Green on Bank Holiday Monday. As part of involving local community members in our plans, we carried out an engagement survey for our next Community Allotment in the area. Many of the local residents expressed their interest in being involved in a local food growing site, and we look forward to beginning a space very soon. If you missed us at the Party on the Green, and want to know more, please contact us.
Whilst holding down the gazebo against the gusty winds, we also spent time with local people creating mini edible gardens for them to take away and grow at home. As well as edible hanging baskets and sprouting seed jars as well.
The mini edible gardens contained edible flowers, strawberries and herbs, all providing another great way for people to grow food at home in a different way.
We also planted sunflower and nastursium seeds with the children, who all enjoyed taking away their pots and seeds to grow on. Anyone who joined us at the Ley Hill event, can follow us on facebook, and show us how your plants and seeds are progressing.
