My year with CLIP

October 3, 2014 by TCV Blogs Editor

Over the past year, I joined up with with TCV as part of the volunteering unit with the CLIP project.

After I completed all the hours with clip I still continued going out with TCV because I enjoy it and it makes me feel good. I set my self targets by taking more responsibility for myself and watch the other workers in the group so I can work like them.

It makes me happy when the other volunteers say I worked hard and I am a good worker because that will improve my confidence and teamwork skills. I really enjoy coming out with the group because I enjoy seeing different sites around the local area and doing different tasks that need to be done and I also get along with the volunteers in the group.

A school joined up with us when we were out in High Borrowdale tree staking. Our group and theirs split into groups of two or three maximum.

I worked with a student who I got on well with and I was proud of myself for taking extra responsibility by introducing myself and showing him the work of the day. It was a new environment to the school but we heard good feedback which made us happy.

I join in and feel good, why don’t you give it a go?

Matthew
