Hello once again to our regular monthly up date from the gang here at the Tree Life Centre and what we have been getting up to! As it the final one of 2015 we hope you all had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. Whilst we were, as usual, extremely busy over the course of the month, we closed the Centre for two weeks over the holiday period, so there is a little bit less to report, hence the blog may be a little bit shorter than usual. Anyway, lets get on with it… As … Continue reading

Hello everyone and welcome to the latest blog up date about life here at the Tree Life Centre. As November is the last month of meteorological autumn regular readers will be aware that we are now entering our busiest time, for the newer reader I’ll fill you in as to why. With the weather getting colder it means we can now dig up our native trees with less fear of damaging them as they should be entering dormancy. Add to this the tale end of the wildflower planting season, again weather dependent, and optimum time for other conservation tasks you can … Continue reading
Hello and welcome to another monthly blog update from the Tree Life Centre! We hope this blog find you well as Autumn is well and truly come in on us, with the weather slowly turning to feel more seasonal than that we had at the beginning of the month. As regular readers are aware, October is a sheer mammoth month for us for a variety of reasons and I hope to get across everything we have been doing, but as usual I have probably missed out some things! We kicked off the month with our annual celebration of conservation and all the … Continue reading
Hello once again to our regular blog updates for the goings on at the Tree Life Centre in Kingswood, just out side of Bristol. As September signals the start of meteorological autumn its also the start of our busiest periods, however as with every year this is entirely dependant on the weather! As I’m typing this it certainly looks more autumnal out there but as with most of the country the weather was mainly warm and fine so it was only towards the end of the month could we start with more seasonal tasks. As ever I hope I’ve remembered … Continue reading

Hello everyone and welcome to our regular monthly updates from us here at the Tree Life Centre, just outside of Bristol. With the summer seeming to be advancing at a cracking pace we have been up to the usual weeding and watering that I mention every blog this time of year so won’t bore you with the details again! For that reason this month’s update may be a little shorter than usual but let me tell you what else we’ve been doing in July… The month started off by welcoming the final of four work groups from RBS, read what … Continue reading
Hello readers old and new and welcome to the regular monthly updates for the goings on at the Tree Life Centre here just outside of Bristol in Kingswood. As with most of the country we have had to ‘contend’ with the lovely weather, but as you can imagine when we are trying to grow things keeping everything adequately watered certainly became a challenge! As there is only so many times I can talk about watering, along with weeding and grass cutting, this month’s blog may be a little shorter than usual, as everyone has been chipping in trying to keep … Continue reading
Hello everyone, readers new and old, and welcome to the last blog of spring 2015. As the usual line goes…”it’s been a busy old month here at the Tree Life Centre!” but add to that a strange one too, more of that to follow. With the changing of the seasons and the weather warming up means a changing of the activities at the Centre, so I’d best get on with it and fill you all in on what’s been going on! As regular readers may know, the summer/warmer months generally mean we are just keeping the site ticking over with … Continue reading
Greetings one and all, both old and new readers, to the regular monthly updates from The Tree Life Centre, just outside of Bristol in Kingswood. The moth was full of contrasts, not just the weather but also the tasks (and their locations!) and the sheer amount of visitors we have had. Hopefully I won’t have forgotten anything and given you all a taste of our little world and you’ll want to get involved!
The month began with the Easter Holidays in full flow and with the sun shining for most of it we had many visitors who explored, and hopefully enjoyed, the … Continue reading
Hello one and all and welcome to your regular blog update about our goings on here at the Tree Life Centre. With March bringing the changing of the seasons from winter to spring, and the weather slowly improving, the tasks around the site have also been changing as the trees are starting to bud.
We started the month as ever with the time of year with one of the favourite activities for the volunteers, grafting our new apple trees. With our preferred grafting method of whip and tongue it only gives us a small time frame of early spring it’s … Continue reading
